A little explanation about the truck and the write-up from dealer.

Truck had be throwing a 0087 alot. First couple times it did it I thought must be the fuel filter clogged. Then it did it once or twice with a fresh filter.
I finally took it in because it was almost out of warranty:eek: and it died on the side of the road.

When it died I was out in the middle of no-where arguing with the towtrck about where I was (I could see the two street signs, but he said those to roads ran parallel and didnt intersect:confused:)

So I finally got it figured out and running before the tow truck got there.
When it died there were no codes, no CEL.

I swapped the fuel pump relay with the drl relay and the truck fired right up and had the 0087, 0230. I had never had the 0230 before.

Also the receipts says codes 401, and 0461. The 401 had happened 1 time and long before the 0087's started showing up. But as long as it was going in with only 1000 miles or so left on warranty I wanted it all checked. I had a short list of everything and all the codes I wanted checked while it was in.

Whatever they did on this receipt fixed the 0087's. I haven't had a singal 0087 since. maybe they just disabled it:rofl:

Also at this time the truck had the 6gun, intake, cat-back exhaust on it. egr wasnot blocked at this time.

edit: And I highly doubt the fuel filter was clogged. It had only been on for about 2000-3000miles. I dont have the steering wheel controls, and never reset the fuel filter life indicator until it shows up.

Sweet Thanks

Looks like they just flashed it with a Tech II. I will call the guy back that I spent an hour on the phone with.

LOL - I was just trying to give Kat some more detail - if they can determine the other guy's OS, and it's not the latest and greatest they'll have something to tell him :)

TX of course
I run the 6698 and have never had any code problems, but I haven't ran any big tunes. Maybe a 120hp tune a few times, but I do have a few freak times I was losing rail psi during logging WOT for no reason. IIRC it happens in 3rd only in a few tunes I have ran. I can post a shot of the logs it it will help any.

Can't we change OS with EFI?

only had 1000ish miles left on warranty didnt matter too much. they havent seen it since either.

they made me disconnect all of it before servicing too.

i was more upset they made me buy their fuel filter when i had one in the bed.
