I have a 06 lbz been pulling it the last 2 1/2 years racing it and all out asking way too much out of it... Last time it was on the rollers was over 500 and has been fir over 2 years. Well I think tonight the converter told me to F off. Was spooling it up on the line at a pull and had a pop and it went to a dead pedal but in neutral it would rev, had a air temp code figured it could be the mass air flow so put the stock air box back in with another mass air flow sensor ( had a guillotine on it with a spare mass air flow sensor on it) still did the same thing. Drove it home and the converter would wait longer to lock and would not lock as hard could that pop have been the converter or trans? Temp was normal all the way home no bangs or noises on the way home.

I don't have a video. Was just messing with it today and same issue but when you put it in gear it try's pulling thru the brakes with a dead pedal but let off the brakes and it takes off fine like there is nothing wrong... Could it be clutches tied up? And it doesn't matter 2wd 4hi or 4low drive and reverse it does it.

So what was it that was gone in yours Tim? Just converter clutches or did it whipe out the input or any hard parts? Just trying to figure out what I need to order before I pull it apart... Just hope I don't need to do a input shaft that will side line me for a while

You won't know till you pull it apart what you absolutely need, but the front bearing in my converter got so hot that it warped and disintegrated. Every seal, bushing, bearing, piston needed to be replaced because of the material being sent through. You'll be best off stripping every hard part out and putting it in am aqueous washer.

The converters Dont get hot primarily from the amount of time you sit on it, they see the worst abuse by applying a large amount of torque to them while stationary. and once the fins of the stator are slightly bent or deformed at all, which you may not notice right away, they fully fail muuuch faster

I wasn't waiting for a while I was just bringing it up to around 2,000 rpm like I usually do and as soon as I was about to let off the brake it gave out on me almost like a boot blowing off. Even my run before someone told me it didn't sound like it usually does it was laboring some... But hey I'll know when my parts come in worst comes to worst there is always that spare 6 speed on the floor of the garage :D

Pulled the trans today fluid didn't look bad to be honest wasn't metallic at all had a little burnt smell to it, but the converter I could use as a noise maker... Going to break the trans down tomorrow and get it ready to be cleaned
