Dayco SFI balancer?

Was googling "Duramax SFI balancer" to check prices, and came across this Dayco balancer that they claim is SFI rated:

Description:

Every PowerBond race series balancer features a precision CNC machined AISI 1045 forged steel hub bonded to an equally strong steel inertia ring. Advanced design mean that race series balancers are very light for an all steel product. In most cases they are only marginally heavier than the original cast iron balancer and generally much lighter than other all steel balancers on the market. Powerbond has made balances for gas motors for years. They jangly private label for other companies. It should be a decent piece and another option.

Thanks guys. With the new engine, I do not want to use the old 197,000 mile balancer or flexplate. I like that this one is SFI rated, looks like it doesnt have to be pressed onto the crank and is close in price to a stock balancer.

I've been running the BD flexplate and it has held up great so far. Few hundred less and still has some give to it.

Been good for some 1.5x's 60' on cheater slicks. Looked fine when we took the trans out at Evans shop. I don't know why but I don't like the thought of solid flywheels for some reason.

Isn't the BD part just a flexplate that requires you to reuse the stock flywheel though?

I know the bd flexplate is, but the stock flywheel isn't. Makes the sfi rating a little pointless in my opinion.

Decided that since I now have an SFI flexplate coming, may as well bite the bullet and get the balancer.
Figured since Im the one who asked about it, then I should probably be the one to buy it. :hehe:
Found that only Summit and O'Reilly Auto Parts (of all places!) had them in stock.
Couldn't beat being $100+ cheaper than an OEM replacement, either.

Looks to be a well-made piece. Our scale read between 19-20 lbs.

Bringing a thread back up. Did anybody out there get one of these and try it out? How is it holding up? I'm wanting to replace mine because of age. I've considered a fluidampr(seen a few for sale now where they said nothing wrong, less then 500 miles, looks now, my engine lost a crank so I'm selling it), but too many people end up with broken cranks after installing them for me to chance one, so I was considering the DAYCO.
