Question: Data input from TCM needed by LBZ?

I have been told that the transmission only needs throttle position from the ECM.

My question is the reverse. What inputs does the LBZ ECM need to get from the TCM?

Thank you,

Does anyone know who I can contact to get the answer to the above question?

nothing, if you flash it with a manual trans OS.

Well, I guess that is true. But I will be running a six speed auto and so it would be nice to have the two interact. The reason that it is germaine is that there is the possibility that I will be able to get a non-GM transmission and TCM with my preffered gearing so I need to know which inputs the Duramax LBZ needs or normally uses.

Once that is known, then I can determine if the non-GM TCM provides those outputs and make some decisions based on fact and not speculation.

The ECM doesn't "need" any input from the TCM. The transmission in these trucks needs to sometimes tell the ECM things so it can defuel for shifts or go into limp mode, but if you aren't running a factory transmission, you probably don't need that capability.

How do you expect a non-GM trans or non-GM TCM to talk to a duramax ECM....?

GMLAN isnt exactly "regular old CAN like everyone else uses" you know. ;)
