expensive to do a 4wd and get decent front end travel. even then your limited to CV angles and you can break the cages or axles easy. Not to metion your turning radius will absolutly suck if you get a good kit that has a good amout of wheel travel. anything over 14-15" means the uniball in the UCA or spindle will have to be turned vertically to acheive the travel desired, thus you limited in your steering. turing radius will diminish with extended arms anyway. then you have your rod ends and uniballs that dont like high mileage either.

Prerunners are alot of fun but need a decent amount of upkeep as well. been there, done that with my only daily driver. i put 60k mainly highway miles on my old 00 GMC new body style RC/SB with a fugitive fab LT kit, 35s on beadlocks, deavers out in the rear and king shocks all around. i miss it but wouldnt daily drive it again

btw, if you come across a white gmc like i mentioned, let me know. i like keeping tabs on it as id like to buy it back one day

Ya I was thinking about that.. I may have to settle for a 2wd.

will do. Thanks for the info. I will attempt to find one already built if I find one reasonably priced. What did you have in your GMC for Cost?

Front end was 5.5k with 2.5" coilovers. Bascially everything i needed for the front. Add another 1500 for bypass shocks of you want those too. Wheels were 1500, tires were 1200, springs were 600, shackles were 200, built the bed cage myself with 150 bucks in steel. Already made ones are 600+. rear bypasses were 2000, 5 point harness was 150 for two, suspension seats were 425, front fenders painted and ready to go were 700, and i put everything on myself.

And thats a cheap setup without 4 linkin it lol.

lol chevys are not cheap. get a ford ranger with ibeam style suspension. they can be built for cheap or bought cheap. i built a full 7200 truck for desert racing for 15k. pulled 22" of front end travel, dana44 spindles/brakes, 9" rear end with 20" of travel and blah blah blah.
