I have abunch of tree DEX VI from Petro Canada. My trans is getting buit by a good friend of mine. My trans is going to have the older red eagle clutches in it. It is going to have the converter valve, and the pump spring shim. Now, with everything I've read thus far DEX III seems to be the choice for most guys with built trans that race and have huge demands for holding power. Is this fluid good for towing and such? Is DEX VI really that much worse of a fluid for the clutches? If so, is DEX III (valvoline) a good fluid to use instead?

P.S. yes, I searched, but most info was from 2009-2010, and was curious if new informatin has surfaced on fluids since then.

Thanks

Dex 6 will not hold the clutches as well as Dex 3 or TranSynd under high horsepower applications. I suggest you use a complete rubber kit and front pump seal if your truck is older than '08 as Dex 6 doesn't like the older rubber parts.

Well I wouldn't consider myself "high horsepower". I might be in the 550-580hp range, but thats besides the point. I will pickup some DEX III, thanks boys.
