okay so i never really pull anything...but d rated tires are $100bucks diffrent in price. im in desprate need in tires but dont really wanna dish out alot of money. would running d rated tires really hurt anything? would they be ok??
If you go with something like a D rated 285 they actually can handle more weight than the stockers. I have ran several sets on my truck with no problems.
Just look at the load carrying capacity. D rated 285/75R16 have a larger air chamber which carries more load. 245/75R16 even though they are E rated dont have the size air chamber as 285 so the 285 carries a larger load
D tires ride so much better than E it's worth the time in the cab without all the E bouncing. Most could run D tires if they only tow a few times a yr. Most trucks just run around empty major part of their life.
