Anyone know off the top of their head what size socket fits on that huge nut to take cv shaft out?

BTW-don't buy one from advanced auto parts. I'm replacing mine after a months use with no racing or even using 4wd. POS

It was clunking pretty bad. Found a tear in the boot. Hardly no grease inside. I replaced it this evening with one from napa. U-joints have had it too. Terrible popping and clunking low speeds between drive and reverse. Will be replacing those in the am.

I bet all that 4wd launching puts a ton of stress on the universals. Haven't really heard of people running into issues with them. Maybe it's just my bad luck :(

I bought a Craftsman 12 pt. 36 mm 1/2" drive socket from Sears a few weeks ago (that's what is needed for the balancer bolt), and it was less than $10 with tax.

I heard those are pretty good actually. Come with a lifetime warranty correct? When Jared Duramax and I did the turbo, we got a 12 pt. 12mm wrench from sears. Man said it is full proof. Never break. Brought it back that afternoon in half. :D

Replaced u-joints in rear today. Fixed some of the noise. Still have a god awful squeak in drivers side area as well as a clunk. Torqued down all lift kit pieces tonight, greased fittings and lubed everything generously. Still squeak and clunk. Wonder if it's the LCA bushings.......clunk might be ISS. Haven't replaced one and is 02' w/ 134,000 mi. Squeak can be heard in any depression or bump in the road. Clunk usually felt right before coming to complete stop. ughhhh :mad::mad::mad:

The squeak has stopped since I sprayed the bushings with CR-56. The clunk is still very noticeable. How could the control arms knock? They are perfectly level and look in good shape. You can feel it with your left foot. I've read people have had knocks (clunks) associated with the cross member? Not sure what to look for there.

Check all the bolts that bolt the a-arm to the frame. I had a chirp in my front end everytime i hit a bump, took it to get aligned and they said one of the upper a-arm bolts was loose
