well i took the 5 little bolts out of that flange that holds the cv to the fixed axle.

is that all the holds them together or is there an inner shaft connection also? cause they dont wanna separate and i dont wanna beat them apart too hard till i know for sure...

36mm nut under the dust cover in the center of the hub needs to be removed as it holds the axle to the hub. Id remove it before the bolts to the diff.

No need for the rotor and junk, just the dust covwer in the center of the lugs, heck you dont have to take the tire off if you dont want to!!

I belive if it clicks while turning its the outer CV and if it clicks while accelerating its the inner.

Kk well got a new shaft from advance auto for 70bucks but im not sure its gonna fit. It says its the righ part for the truck but the shaft itself is shorter and te axle side is round not tabbed like the stocker. I dunno i can only hope. Need to resume the search for a 36mm socket tomorrow

Yea Beech I pulled my cv shafts with the truck on the ground, a little hard but it's easy to do. the CV's have that pressed cover, dont break it or you will be buying a full new cv shaft.
