Cutting my Truck up

While I wait to see results of Pats and a few other rebuilds, before deciding on what I do with the LB7 in the shed, I started operating on backend of my truck. Im doing Triangle 4 link with a Panhard as well. Have notched the Chassis. Airbags with Shocks on the back. It will be fairly low. Wheels are Intro Alloy - 20x15 with M/T 31x18 Rear, 20x8.5 with 31x10.5 Front. Have removed Rear Bumper, Towbar, Long Range Steel Tank, Big Steel Wheels, Springs and unnecessary brackets etc. When its together I will weigh the truck and run Neens and Pats tune exactly as last time and try and evaluate the difference in time with the weight loss to see what sort of equasion there is. Should be done in couple more weeks

LOL We might stop by and watch possibly caspers first 10 second pass, and maybe my dad's first and last 12 second pass with the lift kit, because its a better track, and lower, just hope the wind is better too.

Im doing Triangle 4 link with a Panhard as well.
So you're doing a triangulated 4 link and a panhard bar? Do you mind if I ask why? Won't that cause binding? Or did I misunderstand?

Thanks for the encouragement men. (and woman). Trend these days seems to be into high 4x4's. I like them too but I'm an old hotrodder at heart and it just keeps surfacing - like now when I get the urge to chop things up. I want to concentrate on making this a good looking long term street/strip truck and try and promote diesel racing out here in Oz. I'm going to have to buy another truck for outback bush, probably CC Dually 4x4. cheers

forget the trend and make a new one,as long as its not stock thats what matters.

man o man that thing looks great. love the meats on the rear!!!! dont wanna high jack this thread, but since we are on suspension and such. how would i lower the rear of my classic 07 to make it level with the stock front stance it has???

Loooks awesome, but what exactly are you doing???

I'm trying to shed as much weight as possible - So far with the big steel wheels, Rear Springs, Large Steel Fuel Tank, Rear Bumper and Towbar, and some of the bracketry and bracing thats been replaced, I want to re weigh it and see how much of the 7760 lbs is missing, then run it at the track again in the lowered state with exactly the same tunes as last time to see what difference it all makes. Then I am going on another project for power.

Bullfrog - Bumper stays but having new one fabbed as that one has been a cutdown bullbar.

Brewmax - Check out McGaughy's. They have lowered shackes and spring hangers for most - not sure about 07

Truck back on the road and does it drive SWEET. (as long as its on the bitumen) Everything is so tight and direct its great to drive and rides nice and firm - Really pleased with project. Truck is much lighter, will be on weighbridge tomorrow to see exactly how much. But it feels app 1 second faster so it will be interesting - Ill be going to t&t 23rd this month. Next project is underway. Going with Turbo into S/C - Hope that project goes as well as this one has.

About your next project.

You want your Supercharger blowing into your turbo. That way the turbo is working on a higher base pressure.

Say atomspheric pressure is 15psi and your turbo is working at a 4 : 1 Pressure ratio than your actual boost is 45psi. (Atomsphere pressure x Pressure ratio) - atomsphere pressure example (15 x 4 = 60 60-15 = 45)
Now if your SC is making 5psi of boost you add that to your atomsphere pressure. [(15+5)=20x4]=80-15= 65psi of boost.
