Been lifting heavy parts by hand for long enough. Built an electric hoist for the truck bed.

Just need to shore up to the frame to utilize and install floor jack to use the 3500lb hoist capacity

I would stand way back if I was lifting 1 ton with that thing. Even 1k lbs would scare me.

Sorry if I come access a little harsh, It just doesn't look built to handle that much despite what the sticker says

Say it, cause I felt the same way, which is why I welded 1/8 sock around the inside of the picking arm for structural reinforcement.

I'm thinking of welding some stock around the outside of the tower as well but haven't don't that part yet

I did this for a friend with a health issue. It was in an e-350 and I got under the mounting a added a plate, welded to structural steel and connected to the frame of the van. He has used the hell out of it! A few weeks ago he picked up a 600-800lb wood stove with it. I'm glad he's able to keep working :)

I have a quarter inch steel plate that is 18 inches square I drill and taped on sat. The hoist bolts into that, then I need to weld a bracket around the frame to the plate for support
