That's awesome.

It would be to hang a Duramax/Allison Chevy powered flag and go down the sled track with it...

I thought about something like that but I think I need to beef up the pole a little. So far i have gone 45 mph and thats about all I dare go.

when i did mine i mounted some 1/2 pipe flanges into the bed rail holes and used a piece of 1/2 pipe about 18 inches long. then slid the aluminum flag pole over it and used a spring pin to hold it all together. strong as heck.

Yeah mine is a two piece pole and has a swivel type deal built in so my flag doesnt get all wrapped up in the pole. I still might be able to find a piece of tubing to slide up in there not sure it the swivel part is hollow though.

i removed the swivels because all i could find were plastic ones. are yours metal? that is the one issue i have is they get twisted. they unravel once you get going, but still annoying.

Yeah the swivels are plastic. Not sure if the swivel is hollow or not i will have to look. I dont plan on going on the freeway with it just to work and around town on games days. So far 45 mph it does pretty good with the plastic swivels.

Cool!

Is the base plastic? Where did you get it?

Something like that could come in handy at the sand dunes.

Yeah the base is made out of some sort of plastic i forget the name of it. It was just some left over material at my buddys shop and we machine it pretty much identical to the gooseneck ball.
