I have searched and read and searched more to no avail on this so its time to ask the experts. I have an 01 truck and have dsp5 efi on it, my problem is no matter if its the 441 OS or the 6006 OS and no matter the vin (I have used an 01, 02, & 03) I always get a black screen on the cts when it powers up each time that looks like the photo attached. The 02 or 03 vin both let me see the pids on the cts but still wont let me switch tunes.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I would love to get this working. Thanks in advance!

Ben

Use either of these OS, the VIN# in the tune files needs to be programmed into your ECM. They are from two different 2002 trucks but both are compatible VINS in a 2001 truck.

You cannot flash a 2001 OS back into your truck once you convert, it will most likely lock the oil life at 0% if you go back to the 2001 file.

They are for a Push Button TC and not a manual floor shifter.

This is a base DSP5 file, no mods at all.

We use these two files all the time for 2001/2002 trucks with a CTS instead of hardwired switching.

Make sure you use either of the VIN#'s that the tune file has if you have a 2001.

Good Luck

Yea, that didn't work either. Flashed it with the vin provided, updated the vin then ran my script and flashed it with the vin provided again and ensured it was updated. Any other ideas?

Did you go in and change the VIN in the ECM? It doesn't change when you flash the tune, you have to go in and manually change the VIN in the ECM.

I changed it in the ecm and also went back and rechecked to make sure it changed.

Can I ask if you are using v7.5 tune tool to change the Vin, then making sure your are updating the VIN and then closing the windows and double checking.

I have done this 100's of times over the last 10 years with 2001's and never had it not work.

As long as that OS is used in a 2001 and a 2002 VIN is programmed into the ecm the EDGE should be quite happy with it and work just fine.

Is this an CTS Insite original or the newer CTS2

Yes, i used 7.5 and went here
01528cd4d711da6c71fbfe3b16f2e56b.jpg
. Clicked on locking tab>check status> then went to vin/bcc pasted the new vin and clicked update vin and closed everything then went back and double checked amd it shows the correct vin you ask me to use. The edge reads the pids but says the main os isn't supported. Im so aggravated with it now haha

For anyone interested, the issue was internal with the edge unit. Got a new cts2 insight and it works perfectly! Thanks for all the help!
