CTS video quality

Will the CTS screen provide good quality video when hooked up to a decent camera? My factory backup camera is useless for hooking up a trailer, if the sun is behind the truck it washes everything out and if it's in front of the truck the contrast is so poor that the hitch ball disappears in the shadow. I tapped into the factory wiring and ran a feed to the CTS to see if it would look any better, and it's actually worse.

Here's my mirror display

Here's the exact same image on the CTS. Quite a bit darker.

If I were to buy a decent camera to mount to the license plate frame, would the CTS provide a good picture? Or will I need a better screen? Anyone have a good camera hooked up to the CTS that can share their experience?

IIRC, you can adjust the brightness and the contrast on the CTS. I haven't messed with my settings in 2 years though. I'm happy with mine. I'm using the Edge camera.

I can't find a contrast option in the CTS. It's probably just the crappy camera I have that's causing the problems. I think I'll try a better one and see what happens. Thanks Roger.
