most of the stuff i've read about cryo treatment goes like this
•30% to 50% Increase in Strength
•Reduced Friction
•Dissipates Heat More Efficiently
•Hi-Performance engines run twice as long between rebuilds
•Rings and rod bearings last up to 2 times longer

so say lbz rods can take 600hp all day. 30% of 600 is 180. so a set of cryo treated lbz rods should take at least 780hp?? no more than 975??

Im not sure if i believe it or not.

Most of the places that offer cryo services charge around 10 bucks per rod. Seems too good to be true. what are yalls thoughts?

It is.

Do a little searching around on here, its been come to the conclusion that cryo treating only gains you about 3-5% increase in strenght due to the type of metal the rods are made of and how they are formed

Just cyro what you can afford to build and run it at the estimated limit you will love that power level even if it's 650 hp an LBZ will cream you when you run twin turbos all tuned with a built tranny. Spread your money around in the truck build so you get a better overall use of the funding you have. If you can't do that big buck motor do what helps build other stuff it'll be done when you can get that engine built with the big stuff. That's my theory I've been doing on my LBZ hell it runs like crazy with stock guts just put EFI, Intake, Exhaust, delete cat, block EGR, and put on Raptor lift pump it'll show you how much just those few basic things make it run better. My 2 cents on it have fun whatever you do you have the right truck if you don't have to jack off with those LB7 injector rebuilds crap.

The best saying ever. If you can not afford to do it right the first time then you cannot afford to do it twice. :thumb:

Put the twin turbos and 2 CP3 pumps with big injectors with a race EFI tune then and bend those stock rods in a few runs just spend that much for the engine on the outside I guess because the inside parts will be what? 5 or 6 grand then labor so you have it done. If she can't swallow make her gulp with nitrous too that'll give the go. It's only money let us know how fast it turns when you race it and how it holds up makes good reading to compare the way it lasts. Allison will be hot after this racing deal.

The above rundown gives a real cost model if you want to play with stock engine and hope for it to just make it. I stopped until I can do it once not twice or more. Good luck to ecc on that......

ecc I mean on your build hope it turns out to be a runner you spent for. That's been a drawn out job I only am able to check on here a bit and remember when you lost that motor. Lots of money in these so I have to hold up and use it better and easier.
