02 Chevy, ever since I've owned it the cruise control hasn't worked. I'm finally getting around to working on it. First off I tested the switch, switch tests good, I'm getting signal. Then the previous owner had the clutch pedal switch removed and looped the connector, I installed a new CPPS, I have signal from the turn signal switch and down at the pedal connector. My question is. Will the cruise control work with the abs light on? I know the system cuts cruise when abs is active for more than 3 seconds.

Did you check the cruise control fuse. Mine was out for a long time before I even realized there was a fuse for it. Changed the fuse and now I have cruise again. Probably isn't our problem but it fixed mine.

I don't believe the cruise control works with the ABS light on. At least on my brother's 2003, it wouldn't work until we fixed the ABS.

On my 08, the ABS light was on and the cruise control still worked. Though at one point it did quit on me and it was the brake switch that had gone out. Sometimes if I pulled up on the brake pedal with my toes, I could get it to set. Can't say if that would or even could be an issue for you considering the difference in years, but might be worth looking at.

Cruise works with the ABS light on in one of my 02's. It's on because I replaced a line last year and never have properly bled ABS controller/block/system and reset it with a Tech II. Cruise def. still works though, I use it a LOT. Excessively.

Has the truck been tuned? Seems I remember someone having a quirky tune one time that caused the cruise to not work? IIRC a reflash with the same tune fixed it?
