I would take carillos over Crowers based off weight. I actually like Howards over either because of price with pin oiling. That is available with Carillos for an extra 500 bucks.

Your going to be 40 grand into your motor to get to 1200+ horse. Not sure how being on a budget comes into play. But anyways, carillos should do just about whatever you need.

Hmmm, 40G.....

If you drive an existing and running rig into the shop, and need everything, lets just see about this. I'm gonna randomly throw numbers out, just wingin it here so don't beat me up too bad if my numbers are off....flame suit on

Labor to R&R block- 2500
Labor to tear down and rebuild block-6500
Billet crank, Carrillo rods and mahle pistons- 12000
New valve train springs and retainers- 2000
Porting of heads- 2000
Compound turbo set up for 1000+ whp- 8500- 12000
Injector modification- 2200
Dual modified CP3's- 3800

Yep, that list is 39,500-41,000.....(wow, i was not even trying to hit that 40G mark, and i nailed it) I wouldn't have believed it/didn't really believe it till I actually put it down like this, man, my build is 22,500 so far, now I feel like that's cheap:woott: lucky me:roflmao::joker:

Sucks huh, would hate to go budget on the rods to save 500 bucks:roflmao:

What are you trying to accomplish anyways? If you wanna go budget buy some used Borg chargers and de lipped LB7 pistons and use the cheaper rods, get some II injectors and a used dual fueler set and run it on the dyno a few times before it breaks, just to say you did it.....and it's still gonna be expensive
:spit::roflmao::rolleyes:

Good luck with your budget 1000-1200whp build

I wish I spent 2200 on my injectors :spit:

I know right, that's about as low as you can go if you have a good set that can be punched out. Realistically, it's probably closer to 2800 for just the flow increase and balance, if you buy a Bosch refurbished set with no cores you are gonna spend about 4800 minimum, then another 2200-2800 to flow mod them:roflmao:

I was trying to keep it on a budget, for Mikey:cool2::rofl:

LMFAO

"Budget" 1000-1200hp truck

God I hate the internet & magazines that make people think all they need to do is "chip" a truck and it'll make 1000hp and never break again..

a motor has mere minutes of actual run time at 1000+ hp. there is absolutely NOTHING budget about 1000hp+
