I'll be leaving in about a half month to head out to Portland, OR. Planning to stop in San Antonio, Denver, Vegas, LA, then Portland. Right now my biggest concern is getting past the flooded river. Anyone in the Memphis area? Just wondering if its hard to get around that area or find fuel or anything of the sort?

If you are heading to San Antonio, why not just go down to I-20 and over to any of the 3 south bound interstates(I-65, I-59, I-55 ) down to I-10 and then over to Texas that way...or take I-20 to I-35 and straight down to San antonio

just a suggestion...

I live in ga and had to come to abilene , texas to work(paintless dent repair) anyways I left ga on I 20 and crossed the missip with no problems about 2 weeks ago. It may have changed but it didn't seem to be near the bridge at that time

and if I-20 at the river in Vicksburg, MS is a problem (and known in advance) he can always get off of I-20 at any of the three I-65, I-59 or I-55 and head down to I-10 and then over to San Antonio...

I just thought I-10 was closing due to flooding. If its open thats my preferred route. I'll just have to keep an eye on things as it gets closer.

The mississippi river at vicksburg is not a problem for traffic and shouldn't be one unless a barge(s) hits the bridge again. The only major roads closed down here are Highway 61 South at the Big Black River, Highway 61 North at the Highway 3 Intersection, and parts of Highway 49 around Yazoo City. If anyone is crossing the river at vicksburg, shoot me a message and I'll give you an up to date forecast. And finding fuel is not a problem either.
