TX of course
Held up great 65mph into a freeway divider. For the most part the only injury was to my pride. I was a little stiff and had very minor whiplash.

3 weeks ago. Wasn’t paying close enough attention while changing lanes and sideswiped a truck. He took out my rear tire and put me into a skid that took me across three lanes of traffic and into a concrete wall. I was on an elevated portion of the freeway and my last thought is I’m going over this wall and going to fall to my death. Thankfully that didn’t happen. When I finally came to a rest I remember sitting here thinking shit it’s over....is that it? I didn’t even get decapitated by my airbags that of been under recall. Say what you will about these trucks, but GM got the safety right on them. That’s for damn sure!

Trucks totaled. It’s amazing the doors open and close perfect other then the front fenders being smashed into them. Didn’t even bust the radiator or anything else in the cooling stack. Bed made contact with the back cab.

I looked for a couple weeks but couldn’t find any fully loaded crew cab long beds. So I picked up a younger twin to my 06 GMC.

Glad you are ok. Ranch hand is starting to look more worth the money now. Not a cheap brush guard,

Why’s that? If you’re going to be in an accident you’d stand a better chance with the factory bumper.

Can I say the ranch hand made it lessened the impact? No. Am I a fan of ranch hand? No. The more metal in front of you on impact usually means safer. I know we can get into crumple zones, but lets not. Factory bumper was still installed from looking at the pics. Can I say it helped, no, in this situation might it have?

Don't mean to make lite here Dozer.

I’m not a fan of full replacement bumpers unless your just tearing up stock ones. Ranch hand makes the best grill guard and it’s a happy medium for production for me driving around job sites.

Weather or not it helped me or the truck I don’t know. I’m amazed at how little of impact I have felt. While I have never been in a crash at this speed. From my heavy equipment experience I know the feel of a jolt from 9000lbs+ coming to a very sudden stop. I would take this hit over those hits anytime. I’m also amazed at how little the damage is. Front end crash and didn’t even bust the radiator. 3000lbs in the bed and it barely hit the cab enough to put a few small scratches in it. AMAZING!

There is a Ranch hand on my new truck too.
