im no master tech by any means more of a green horn wrench turner willing to learn that said im lost with this one my lly has been parked for a while because I let the reg lapse do to failing emissions I went to start it and it cranks away but will not start my first thought was that it lost prime somehow and needing a quick fix I started it with ether it started a little rough but rain fine I let it run til it was up to temp and throttled it up a few times seemed to run fine so I used my edge cts to watch the rail pressure and it was responsive while running. however when I shut the truck off it instantly goes back to the cranking no start problem it doesn't throw the check engine light. My first thought was that its fuel related so I started following that I have fuel going from my lift pump to the filter housing I cracked the bleeder screw no til I got all the air out (not sure there was any)so then I went to the rail I got fuel out of the Schrader valve so I assume there good fuel to the injectors but im just not seeing high enough pressure for the motor to start
I talked to a buddy that works at a local shop and he said that the fuel pressure regulators are known to stick im just wondering if this might be my problem
I also saw that u can block off the fuel pressure relief valve should I block that off so I no its not my issue
My next move is going to be try to get my buddy to scam it and see if there's anything im missing im also going to try watching rail pressure while cranking and looking for any visible fuel leaks im kind of leaning towards the problem is electrical but I did just replace the motor and when doing so I had everything apart which makes e not trust my own work im at a lose with this any help would be great thanks
