cp3 pump

Hey guys I have a 06 duramax that I'm changing the cp3 pump on. I got it out but Im wondering if I have to fill the pump up with fuel before it goes in or not. Anybody?

No put back together and pump the primer

yes the primer on the filter housing once you are ready to start it up
