I'm considering trying out the stroker CP3 from Wicked diesel that Pat is selling, but I want to see what other options I have out there for the LBZ. I know PPE and ATS both sell dual CP3s for my application. I also know that Industrial Injection sells modded CP3s. Is there anyone else that has modded or dual CP3 systems for the LBZ?

Since you don't have an FICM you could set up this type of lift pump system much easier than LB7 and LLY guys:

fuel pump http://www.jegs.com/p/Aeromotive/750192/10002/-1/10307
Regulator http://www.jegs.com/p/Holley/756937/10002/-1/10323

This would allow you to idle fine by regulating the pressure at low boost to ~12 psi but then as boost increased the pressure you feed your CP3 would increase. You would put the pump on the frame rail (preferably after a high flow filter setup) then run it to the regulator placed as close to the CP3 as possible and then run a return line from the regulator back to the tank (I would run a small cooler on it before the tank). The Mitusa lift pump is another option. Just some ideas, the LBZ CP3 is already pretty good.

i have a modded II pump on my truck reall all it does is spike to 26000psi and falls down to 21000 psi. twin cp3 i have the II pump in the valley and stock lly on top and i hold 26900 psi with all the testing i have done. i have big sticks and the modded II cp3 alone will not hold rail pressure.

For big build motors running twins + twins with big sticks, is it still necessary to do the pump mods to the plunger(s) and in/ out holes? Thanx...T

That would be the ideal setup but DAMN that would be what roughly 5000$ in the 2 CP3's then another 1800$ give or take for the Dual CP3 kit. Almost 7,000$ But if money was no object then yes I would go with Simons idea:D And to even go crazier what about a 3rd Wicked Diesel pump:D:D

3 x CP3 Climax style! I think 2 Wicked Diesel CP3s would be enough fuel to support just about anything, but if not a Wicked in the valley with a CP3.4 as the second pump would be.

it's a start;) no one ever said building a d-max was cheap

wicked in the valley and 3.4 is a good start:D

2 WD 3.4s there is a nice setup:cool:

Boy, an twin cp3's used to be nutz! Now guys are tripling the cp3's, its escapes me that at this point we havent run into a restriction stumbleing block, like lines or the injectors internal passages! I think T&C has enlargened common rails! IMO CP3.4's are the hot ticket if we can get our hands on them!

WICKED DIESELS

you need more fuel
I only run one, as in a single CP3 on our shop truck (Dodge). The twin turbos will not provide enough air for the fuel the pump makes. It is easy to be unbalanced everywhere else, when fuel is not the issue. With the tuning you guys have available (EFI Live), I would think 850 RWHP, with enough air and a single CP3 would be do-able.

Also these injectors do not like to see over 26,000 PSI for extended periods of time, these pumps can keep the pressure up to the point of injector failure. I know for a fact, as I have replaced mine once, I also think Pat blew one in the salt.

2 of these pumps together, would be like 3 1/2 stock CP3's. For most bigger seems better, beyond that control becomes an issue. It is good to have an abundance of extra pressure through volume, but you don't want so much that you can't keep it to drivable levels concerning cruise pressures.

Can anyone pull down the pressure from dual CP3's? I am talking about a kit with pumps that are pretty new, including the one in the valley.

It can be done with a new lly and lbz cp3,but its tough and the tune wasnt worth much as far as ET....but it smoked like cheech and chong:D

The way I see it is we can command what we want and if the cp3(s) are giving it...it takes one less thing out of the equation
