My BURB is starting to lose it's CP3. She can barely hold 155 rail pressure now with a 1800 PW, and is also getting to where hot she doesn't start as fast as she used to. The injectors have almost 15K on em and the balance rates are all good, and the regulator also only has 15K on it. I've decided to go with a new LBZ CP3 as I don't plan on going big with my tuning, I only want to hold a 170 MPA rail pressure with a 2200 PW or so. My main question is should I go with the stock LBZ regulator, port my LB7 regulator, or port the LBZ regulator? Like I said I have no p[lans of going big with my tune as my front end can't hold it in 4X4, and my 10.5" 14 bolt is the limiter out back.

I'd just run the stock lbz regulator if you're comfortable making the tuning changes in efi live. A buddy of mine runs about 600 hp with an unmodified lbz reg on an lb7 cp3. So a stock lbz pump and regulator should run you just fine IMO.

What about doing a return test just to make sure it isn't injectors? I only suggest because I would hate to see you change the CP3 and still have the same problem. It isn't that hard to do.

Why do I keep doing this?

Id use the stock LBZ reg. They still flow pretty good. Tuning changes are pretty simple, too. I could not get my modded LB7 reg to stop surging at idle, thats why I switched to the stock LBZ.

I'm sort of in a similar situation regarding the cp3.... injectors need to be changed for the 3rd time. Balance rates are wayy out of spec on 3 or 4 of em. I've got 170k on the stock cp3. I'd like to go ahead and modify the cp3 but the question is how much longer will she hold rail pressure? Will modifying this used cp3 cause premature failure?

Not tryin to steal your thread I'm just curious as well.

BY THE WAY---that t-case is running great! thanks

Mine really went down when I tried to run a PPE level 6, she hasn't held rail pressure very well since. I would hope there is nothing wrong with the fuel system as it is all pretty much new still, but I did get a couple of bad tanks of diesel last year that plugged a few filters up.
