ok so I have a 03 lb7 low miles. I just drove the truck a week ago and it ran fine (other then my 2-3 shift is messing up again). went to go start the truck today and it wont engage the starter. All dash lights come on, gear indicator is working fine, it recognizes my key as driver1, I can communicate with the ecm and tcm and see data from the ecm, I pulled the codes and I will post a screen shot of the codes below only new codes are relating to ABS which seems odd because my ABS light is not on??
I do have power to the starter from the battery, I do not get any 12v+ to the solenoid coil when I go to turn the key. I jumpered the solenoid coil with 12v+ and It kicked the motor so it doesn't look like the starter or solenoid.
I checked all fuses and not just visually. I did flip flop some relays and no change...WTF

Any body got a wiring diagram I could use to help me eliminate more electrical...
any help appreciated

last code is for HVAC and second to last I tink was from me shuffling relays

Ok so I saw a relay labeled starter in the fuse box and my assumption was the ignition switch either triggered this relay which then triggered the relay or the relay was triggered by the ECM and the ignition switch was in series with the output from the relay to the solenoid???? Any help to guide me.
Man I feel like a fool with out a wiring diagram.

The relay is triggered by the ECU. It does this to prevent starter overheating (you can only crank it for ~30 seconds, IIRC), to prevent starting it while it is running (I've tried that while idling next to my Dad's cummins-- couldn't hear my truck, so I tried to start it again before taking off), and to prevent it from starting in gear.

You mentioned the gear indicator is working fine. Just to test, try starting it in both Park and Neutral. Usually one of the two still works if the sensor is going out. The display on the dash can appear fine but the sensor can still be bad enough to prevent starting.

Yep I can jump it and it cranks

Yep I tried moving the gear selector a bunch of times and jiggling both gear shift and key no luck in both P or N

Anyone know of a sorce where I could buy a good correct wiring diagram for these trucks?
I've seen a few aftermarket wiring diagrams that were great and some that were just plain missing stuff

Dumb question but are your batteries good and strong? Had a buddies lly do something similar one day and couldn't figure it out. Finally I threw one of my known strong batteries from my truck in it and it fired right up like normal

Let me be clear I can jump the solenoid on the starter and it cranks I have not tried jumping the relay.

I knew I should have but that relay jumper and tester kit but me being cheap just made life harder
I'd like to look at a diagram before I try to jumper the relay first so I know what is correct unless I get info here on correct jumping procedure.
My gut keeps telling me it a open shorted wire.
I've had no problems then bam

There is no power going to the solenoid coil how could it be batteries??
I monitored bat volts while trying to crank dead on 12
But I covered all bases and added another charged good battery in parallel just to make sure and no change. It's not the batteries or starter or solenoid

If the pins on the relay are labeled you'll want to connect 30 and 87 together. When pins 85 and 86 make a complete circuit, they act as the switch that connects 30 and 87 together.

Also check the wiring harness directly below the steering column (on the steering column) that plugs in with the ignition switch. Mine was having similar symptoms before and mine was "loose" and not "clicked" into position, so when I would adjust the steering column all the way up it would disconnect and kill the truck and throw abs codes and say service 4 wheel drive on the dic. That's my best guess it that or a bad ignition switch.

Also tomorrow morning I can get whatever wiring diagrams you desire just lmk what circuits you want.

Well today I final had a few minutes to breathe and see my family. Then off to the truck. I jumper end out the solenoid and drove it into the garage ( thank to the boss I got A/C in the garage wo hoo)
Narrowed it down to the nsbu. Holiday Monday and no local allison dealers around and the ladies want to use the camper friday so I broke down and bought a aftermarket nsbu from car quest not thrilled but only$50.
I heated up the connectorrs and pulled them out and got the glue everywhere on the pins. Side note lacquer thinner works good to remove that glue. As I was going out to grab the next tool and a piece of copper caught my eye sticking out from the tranny harness near the top of the tranny It seems a animal thought my tranny harness was a tasty treat and chewed right threw that output wire to the relay and nicked some others.

Long story long soldered back up and rockin
Thank all for the help.
