Coolant problem

Idk what is going on but when I fill up my reserve tank with antifreeze to the correct level it ends up spraying out of the overflow. Especially when I haul something and the motor is working harder. Idk what would cause that or how to fix it. I've been running it low bc otherwise it ends up all over the side of the truck but my temp stays normal.
Any ideas why it would create that much pressure to spray 1/2-1 gallon of coolant out the overflow?

Head gaskets. Or could be injector cups if it's an LB7.

Definitely not what I wanted to hear. I think something's going funky with mine too.

Wishful thinking would be a radiator cap which you could test but prepare for the worst.

Agreed. Soft hose in the morning means injector cup, cracked head, or your just getting old......

I have a strictly duramax mechanic my friends have used that is charging around $3500 or to get Apex studs $3900 if head gasket(s)... is it worth spending the extra $400?

Yes it's worth the extra money. That's a good price for the job if he's doing all the proper machine work to the heads.

Verify that he is sending them off to a machine shop to be checked, surfaced, and a valve job. If not, find someone else.

He is... I already made sure of that. But yeah, supposedly he's the cheapest and one of the best around but he's a cash/check only shop.
But thank you for your reply bc idek what he was talking about hah.
