coolant loss

are there any symptoms when a head gasket is starting to leak? My 01dmax has about 128000 and in about 3-4 weeks i have had to fill my coolant box up twice.... cant find a leak anywhere so hope it aint head gaskets! by the way... it does not smoke at all... no water vapor or oil... and barely any diesel smoke

Well it has to go somewhere. If you can't see where it's going it's likely getting drank via leaking head gaskets.

Water pump! Check the weep hole on the front of the motor at the bottom!

Check your upper hose in the morning. See if it has pressure in it, if it feels hard as a rock probably a head gasket. I just got my headstuds today so let the tear down change begin!

If you blow a head gasket your temp gauge is likely to act crazy as well, swing from hot to normal and puke coolant all over the ground.

look relay hard down behind the Alt. and around the FICM that aria in the valley all thoes little coolant hoses. the boss has same truck same miles, one of hoses under everything has a little leek (havent pulled any thign off to see exactly which one it is yet but you can some dryed up coolant in there)
