Just finished the wheel bearings and all steering upgrades on the truck and took it out for a spin. Well truck wasn't getting warm in the cab and was smoking a good amount and stepped out real quick. Noticed coolant smell coming out and popped the hood and found it smoking out by the factory turbo.

Could it be the hose that's leaking slightly at the connector or up on the firewall? Raining like mad and dark out so really can't work on it. Pictures are attached as well. No holes in the line anywhere. Yellow part protruding from firewall has no hose.

Lastly is it ok to drive about 20miles tomorrow before it gets fixed?

It could be either one of those spots I guess, the one looks like a splice where the EGR was deleted. There is also a coolant line on the factory turbo, I think it is on the pass side in the valley. How much is it leaking? Maybe in the daylight fire it up and take a look under there.

This is a thread about my truck, not the same leak as yours, but some good suggestions were made.

Correct me if i'm wrong, one of the hose's to the heatercore is off.. At least that's what the second picture looks like. That certainly would cause a loss of coolant!

No you can't drive it 20 miles till it's fixed. Current you have a leak approximately 5/8in in diameter. The lower heater hose has came off the heater core fitting. Get anew hose clamp and put it back on.

I'll look for the house again that for that fitting but didn't see anything the first time around. Anyone have an idea what would make it disconnect?
