Sure it isnt the small hose under the thermostat?

if it is the pipe to the thermostat housing it is just a O-ring

possitive it isn't the hose, coming down the pipe from under the thermastat housing. Any tricks to changing the O ring?

I remove the upper fan shroud and the fan assembly (be sure to unhook the crank sensor wires before trying to pull it out). You will have access to it then. Replace the little cross hose that's connected to it when your in there with some good hose. These like to go at a very bad time. You will want to get some replacement 'O' rings for it (top and bottom). Use some good silicone grease on them if you have it before install. This greatly extends the life of them.
