All,
My gripe started when I got a 'low coolant' light. I checked the coolant level, it was 'low'. Popped the cap and the level returned to normal, no need to top it off. Put the cap back on and headed down the road, only to have the same thing happen.
Thought to myself, not a huge deal, keep relieving the pressure by loosening the cap, and make it through the next couple of days. My mother and grandfather were killed on saturday in an aircraft mishap, so I have larger issues to deal with.
Today, I pop the hood and notice air bubbles entering the coolant tank through the upper of the two hoses with the truck running. I also noticed a black sooty residue on the inside of the coolant tank.
Does this sound like injector cup seals to anyone else, and is there anyone in the Conroe/Houston area that may be able to assist me? I have experience, almost every tool known to man, a hangar to work in, just no special tools and never done this particular maintenance, and not a whole lot of time.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Brian
