LLY: Coolant and oil issue

Head gasket and arp studs fresh about 30k ago . Upper coolant hose soft in the morning after all night , no egr on truck, pvc rerouted using oil and coolant not one inside the other just using . Question is this leaning towards turbo ? No visible oil or coolant leak signs

How much is it using of each?

Some oil consumption is normal. Most healthy stock engines I've seen use 1-3 marks on the dipstick every 10,000 miles. My built motor uses about 2-3x that amount with the looser clearances.

Coolant, however, shouldn't ever go down. I have had a lot of issues where the heater hoses get a pinhole leak, then drip down on the hot engine and evaporate, leaving very little evidence. The way I found that was to pressurize the cooling system to 20PSI when the truck was cold and wait until I saw some drips.

Hey Dave thanks for the reply , so I’ll start off the top of what u said 1-3 marks every 10k I think I’m in the clear then I worked a lot this last few months put 20k on her used 3 lines on the stick I just drained my oil and measure it no signs of coolant in the oil . Came out to be around 7-8 quarts but don’t quote me there to the T , onto the coolant thing I added about a quarter of a gallon to get back to cold level on the reservoir am I just trippin does this all sound up to spec , other then the coolant


Quick edit that’s going to be 30k miles , I know I was waaay overdue but just never had time with work or I’ve just been slacking

So 30000mi since change , 3 Qts low , we know you dont have an oil leak ! You might want to replace the over flow res cap , they are known to leak small amounts that you cant see , you might luck out !

You have nothing to worry about it doesn't sounds like. Think about replacing the coolant cap, but I wouldn't add any next time if it just a little low like that. It might just be burping a little out since it's so full.
