Converter with pump bushing failure

I've got a converter here that had a pump bushing failure. As you can see it got very hot and discolored the metal, even on the inside of the hub.





I cleaned it up with a scotch brite pad by hand but I still have some concerns about it. Measuring the hub, it is about .006" "shrunken" in the affected area compared to the fresh end of the hub. I also could not remove those other inclusions in the hub shown in the below photos. We picked up a new converter but didn't want to send this one away as a core. Would you guys be hesitant to re use this converter? Or does it need a new hub/cover?

I wouldn't use it. .003" is maximum clearance. Any more than that and you're taking a chance of the drive gear touching the crescent. You will lose pump pressure also.
