On the friction side yes, but from the pics it looks like the teeth on the steel side have actually been twisted slightly. I take it this thing seeen some harsh lock-ups judging from the damage.
x3 on pretty purple.
Those big square teeth are the best out there because they never wear just open up any DP magazine and you will see the full page ad about it.

I did not mean to pick on a company with this. I will be showing pictures of other brands as I get them.
Unless there are matching marks in the converter housing, those are manufacturing defects.
As I understand it, and from what I have seen, these plates are laser cut. Poor laser parameter setup will burn the metal at the end of a notch cut. I've done it myself on some of my own parts.
I also doubt they have any significant impact on the clutch performance.

I just re-examined the first picture. The sample on the right looks punch cut/notched, not laser. I can't tell from the second picture. Bad notching operation cleaned up with a grinder?

I was thinking the same thing as far as being laser cut. Only impact I can see is the extra clearance would allow the disks to rotate back and forth more as they engage/disengage, which might start beating up the teeth. :dontknow:
I dont know if this applies to these clutches but with road race and mx bikes when the clutch plate lugs get that worn there is a noticeable difference in actuation and performance. Seems like chatter and vibration and even dragging would be some issues here???
