As long as they arnt stripped and go in fine. Put lock tight on them. Me and a friend didnt when we replaced his input seal and all of them came out. Broke his flywheel and punched a hole in the bottom of his backing plate.

If you have it apart, using news ones is real cheap insurance; then you won't question it later.:thumb:

the stock converter bolts wont fit into an aftermarket converter, you have to grind/cut them, it is o.k to reuse them if they are in good condition, getting them back in is a total beeotch, so if any threads are slightly damaged i would get new bolts, tape in the socket or grease to hold the bolt is is imparitive, good luck:hug:

If you want the final answer on this question call Mike L direct or post a question on his forum site. Mike knows Allisons! Best of luck.

X2...... I bought a new set of converter bolts from Mike when my motor was out. I think I spent $6. If you add a little shipping your still under $20. For $20 bucks, why are you even thinking about not buying new bolts?

It depends on the converter. The ML-G I installed uses the factory bolts.
X2 on installing lock tight :thumb:. I didn't put lock tight on and had to take them all off 300 miles later and install lock tight, it was easy just a pain having to get in the starter hole twice, haha.

My latest converters do NOT use factory bolts. Be carefull.
