Ok, so where is the inspection port? I removed the rectangular piece of sheet metal, but only see the converter. How do I get to the Converter bolts? Looks like Im going to remove the Starter, and see how she looks from there!

Disconnect both batteries first. Remove starter and get it out of your way. You will need a 15mm socket with about a 24" extension. You will be removing them from the front . There are 6 of them. .

"What is wrong with the converter bolts."

Couldn't get to the damn thing's! Figured it had to be through the starter hole. Starter is out and only two more bolts on the trans (dip stick) and the six converter bolts. It's really not that hard to pull the trans/transfer case, although the converter bolts are still in. Hope you guy's didn't put red locktite on them Mike:D

Glad you used the Blue stuff instead of the red;). It actually went well for it being a one man job, without a lift. It took 4.5hrs with a bunch of little breaks. The most time consuming part was the converter bolts.

Blue stuff is for gun sights only. I always use red.

I always use a deep socket and a long 3/8 drive ratchet and work through the wheel well. Works pretty well for me. On a truck with twins (which I know you have) you can get to almost all the bellhousing bolts through the wheel well too. It's a lot easier than doing the loooooong extensions and running it to the back of the trans.

We always just take the converter bolts out with a 36" extension with a wobbly from the front of the truck. Bellhousing bolts are easy with ratcheting wrenches IMO. Russ you get everything out alright? It was good to hear from you let me know if you need anything else
