Console and Jump Seat question

I want to put in a console in place of my jump seat. The problem maybe the 4 wheel drive floor shifter.

Has anyone installed one with a floor shifter?

Can you bend the floor shifter to the left for clearance?

What would the best way to bend the shifter? Cold or heat it?

Any idea's would be greatly appreciated.

i would think the only way to end it would be with heat.

or you can take it out and make a new one out of some round bar that's longer and pre bent to the side, this way you don't have to worry about f'n up your stock one.

or you could leave it under the console. then when you want to put it in 4wd just pull the cup holder out and shift it into 4wd and pop the cup holder back in.

I all ready have the console and the dash piece's. I'm going to make it work one way or the other. Just wanted some opinions. Thanks guys.

i was gonna say usually finding one of those consoles at a decent price is tough enough. make sure you post some pics when your done.

Finding one with the trim piece's has been the trouble that I have found. I bought this one with the trim piece's, rear controls, sub speaker and dark charcoal color for $240.

no, GM made some trucks with a "half console" and floor shifter in 2001-2002. Ive seen a picture of a duramax that was "fully loaded" with bucket seats and the half center console, and floor shift 4wd.

One of my friends has a 2001 Tahoe LS with leather buckets and the half center console, its the only one Ive seen in person.

cool. i already have the normal 2pc console in the back of my truck, but it's got the hole in it. i was just gonna glass the front of it.
