On an absolute pressure scale:

CP/M is 14.7, it had no vacuum; it didn't suck.
DOS is 12.0 had a little, it barely sucked.
Win 3.11 was 13.0, it sucked less than DOS, but still sucked.
Win 95/Me/98 was 9.0, it sucked.
Win XP was 5.0 PSI, it sucked HARD.
Vista is 2.0 PSI, it sucks VERY hard.

By 2010, Winblows will suck so hard, that it will turn the universe inside out.

With Vista we recommend users set themselves up as the Administrator - but I doubt this would cause your file location issue.

My suggestion is that you uninstall and reinstall EFILive 7.5.3, available at www.efilive.com.

In your PM you said you were having DSP issues too - I'm sorry to say that this is our fault. We put the DSP files in the wrong folder

You should find them to:
C:\Program Files\EFILive\V7\Calibrations\LB7\Custom or LLY\Custom folders.

You need to copy and paste or move them to:
C:\Program Files\EFILive\V7.5\Calibrations\LB7 or LLY

Hope this helps.
Cheers
Cindy

did the move... no go for 7.5... 7.3 still work with the DSP cals

I don't have Vista installed, but attached is a help guide on installing EFILive with Windows Vista.

http://68.178.219.18/software/Installing FlashScan on Vista.pdf

I also found a couple of users on our forum have sucessfully been able to right click on the Tune Tool and select run as administrator to get their permissions setup properly. You might like to have a read of http://forum.efilive.com/showthread.php?t=7233.

Cheers
Cindy

Don't fight the file locations ;) The 'stuff' under the 'Program Files' location is program related, and the 'stuff' under the 'Documents' section is generally user specific.

OK so this is what I would do at this point:

1) Create a backup of your 'C:\Program Files\EFILive' and 'My Documents\EFILive' folders. This will enable you to copy content back in a subsequent step.

2) Uninstall all EFILive software and drivers (both 7.3 and 7.4 versions).

3) Delete the 'C:\Program Files\EFILive' and 'My Documents\EFILive' folder locations. DO NOT DELETE THE BACKUPS IF YOU HAPPENED TO PLACE THEM HERE.

4) Install the 7.5.3 base product - download from here: http://download2.efilive.com/Software/V7.5/EFILiveV7_5_3_Setup_Files.zip

5) Update to the latest beta version of the software - download from here: http://download2.efilive.com/Software/V8/EFILive_Beta_Update_May_19_2008.zip

Please note that t really the Black Box Logging that is principally in beta stage. You do not need to update to the BBL firmware (assuming you have a FlashScan V2 of course).

Before you extract this beta update over the base install rename the 'C:\Program Files\EFILive\V7.5\Calibrations' folder to something like 'Calbrations.old'.

6) Load the latest drivers from the 'C:\Program Files\EFILive\V7.5\Drivers\FlashScan\Win-2K-XP-Vista' folder.

7) Copy back the necessary data from the folders you backed up previously. Probably only the data from the 'Documents' section.

Hopefully after all that you should be fine...

Cheers,
