What, if anything, needs to be taken into consideration on tuning for the winter months? i.e. timing, pulse width, high idle, any engine tuning parameter. Temps from below 0 to 30 degrees F high temp, in that range for Northeast winters. I was concerned whether any of my tunes would work or if I should return it to stock for winter. My current tune had a lumpy idle until it warmed up a little this morning. Hopefully you guys from the far north can weigh in.

look at b0915 if you adjust your timing it effects this table
you will add and subrat that was meant for a stock table

my tuning has little to do with idle but i still adjust this table because it doesnt subract enough for ReaL COLD TEMPS

if you PM me ill send you some spread sheets that I use to adjust

I have lived in Cold weather, Idaho Falls, ID is not what I would call balmy during the winter, sometimes the coldest weather in the US. Vegas is nice for weather, that's about it.

I probably have these spreadsheets already Slim, but for confirmation, what happens when you raise lower the multypliers?

As in, if it was 3 and you went to 4, what happens? This always confuses me.

I uselly change the table and leave the multiplier

But if you look at the multiplier it can say add 1 at -40c

1 at -40c = the full value in the timing ect table

at 2800 rpm and 75mm3 this can add 15* timing or at 100mm3 it can take away 10 *

Taking away 10* may sound like a lot but with race tunes you can easy add 10* from stock and pulling 10 might not be enough

now another example is at 40c it only has a value in the multiplier table of 0.15

at 2800 rpm and 75 you would take 15* and multiply it by 0.15 = 2.25* timing

understand?

I was thinking about the same thing today, I have my PPE set on LVL-3 since this past weekend (because I was towing heavy) but its otherwise always on LVL-9 I have been tosing the idea around of just leaving the tow tune in for the next few months of winter thinking maybe that would be a little easier on the motor? Between the cold blk top, salt and sand residue its dam near impossible to get traction in 2wd any how. I hate winter:mad::D

Thanks

I like the clear instructions, don't f*** with this  More instructions should be that way, then maybe I could figure out this tuning thing.

That's Simon for ya-no FN around!!

I understand it more now-thanks homey!:D

TTT anyone have a spreadsheet for the LBZs+? How would I make one or all 12 to do with temps? Figure out how much the timing changes in the stock corrections and app that amount to make new tables? Isn't IAT more important them then ECT? Souldn't you take away timing in cold weather (IAT), but stock its added?
