So I started my truck this morning and it took 5-10 times of cranking to get it to start as it's pretty cold out. Once the truck was started, the fuel gauge dropped to empty, and my security light came on. The truck would try to go into high idle, then drop back to a normal idle. I got in and drove it around the block with no issues, fuel light and security light still on. Shut it off, started right back up, and no lights, fuel gauge at half tank. What may have caused the first issues? Too many failed attempts to start?
