My truck had 3 codes P0700, U2104, U2105. I know the P0700 is the Tranny module it's been replaced twice in the last 25,000 miles the last was less then 10,000. Do they go out that much or do I have another problem? What do the other codes mean. Can the Edge be screwing me it reads funny like reading in the wrong gear after the codes showed up or it reads all zeros across.Plus the Edge has a miss in the motor every once in a while.

I pull the edge out of the system and delete the codes. See if it comes back. My suspicion is one of the edge connectors has a pin not fully seating in the plug. Disconnect and check all plugs. The U are communication issues so there can be a lose connection throwing garbage on the data bus. The P0700 is a generic code the ECM displays to indicate the TCM has some codes. You need to get the codes pulled from the TCM to see what they are.

P0700 just indicates that the TCM has thrown a code. That is all it means. Not all readers read the TCM. As to one that does for sure I don't know other than EFILive Flashscan V2 or GM Tech II. Some say the snap-on code reader is good but no idea if it reads TCM. Search here for ' good code reader ' and problably find one. Post back what you find. If no luck start a new question a ' good code scanner reader to read ECM and TCM codes and canbus compatiable.'
