Trying to help a friend with a truck they just bought. Its blows out raw fuel badly. They have replaced the regulator and are replacing the alternator but this code won't go away and the test doesn't change anything like its supposed to. P0622 Gen Field terminal circuit.

If it's dumping raw fuel out of the exhaust, it sounds like an injector.

I agree but they seem to think after reading some gm wiring info the alt field circuit has something to do with injector pulse. The priveious owner had one bank replaced but ran out of time and needed it back so they didn't do the other side. I don't have it here but I did go look at it. It won't idle long enough to warm up so i can read the balance rates. It had several problems. The first one I found was the coolant sensor was stuck at -40. Replaced that, they had the pcm reflashed. I don't have a gm book to read or trouble shoot with.
