Cluster Repair kit

Hey Guys,

On my 03 lb7 the part where it lights up "P D R N ..." is out and sometimes when I turn on the truck nothing is lit. Then after a min or so all the lights come on except the LCD screen that shows the PDRN..

Has anyone tried this kit

Or recommend one I can use to correct this issue?
The plastic window part of the cluster is also cracked

Are you good with soldering and electrical repair?

If not, I would seriously look into one of the cluster repair places on Ebay. I sent mine to a guy in Minnesota (forget which Ebayer) and for $150 he fixed everything. Some of the places even repair simple things like your broken lens for a nominal price.

That kit will not repair the display. That is normally cold solders on the transistors. Asto the not powering up, it could be cold solders on the bus connection(semi common), but in some cases it can also be the power supply. These problems are normally made worse when doing cluster repairs as the removal of the board many times causes iffy cold solders to finish breaking. Theres about 20-30 solder joints that should be fluxxed and redone while oneis apart. As to the steppers, make sure you're getting genuine juken steppers. The chinese ones used to be black, but they started making them white because people stopped buying them afterthey were failing so quickly. Now it's tough to know if you have chinese ones or good ones.
