i feel that there should be this option to be able to close thread ourselves after items have been purchased.This way we don't have to bother any moderators.

OK I've made a change that should allow users to close threads in the Garage Sale area only. If it becomes a problem then I'll take it away. This is on a test basis only.
The option should be under Thread Tools for any threads that you open.
