LBZ: Clock spring

Had steering shaft apart and may have gotten it a turn out of wack or something, turned wheel to left full lock, now service air bag came up and now light is on, what did I screw up?

you broke the clockspring. Only solution is to replace it. Unfortunately, its a ~$300 part.

You might try the junkyard? Just make sure you get one from a 2500/3500 truck. The 1500 truck and SUV clocksprings are different.

This is a (hard-learned) lesson on why you should ALWAYS secure the steering wheel when the intermediate shaft is disconnected. I usually just buckle the seatbelt through it to hold it in place.

Yeah well, I forgot to hook it up when backing out of the garage, thought I had it back where it should be, guess not!!!
