I was wanting some input on clipping the turbine wheel. My stock turbo took a dump on me and i have a spare lly turbo sitting in the garage im going to slap in. So since i was already having to change the turbo i was wondering if it would be worth it to clip the turbine wheel and port and polish the stock vvt.

I know you cant polish a turd, and no matter what i do its still going to be a stock turbo. But i did some work for a guy who rebuilds turbos and stuff and i was going to swap out the bill and get him to port, polish, and clip the wheel if it is worth it. Any input or suggestions???

Clipping the turbine wheel can be worth it as it will def increase turbine flow, the key is not going too much or too little so it is a noticable gain and sadly that info can take a few tries to figure out, turbo manufactures clip wheels quite often even on off the shelf turbos so it is plenty safe and proven, I would think with the vvt there would be more room for error than with a fixed wheel turbo so I would say give it a shot as long as you don't mind pulling it and replacing it if it isn't to your liking.
