O.k., dumb question. I'm about to order an EGR blocker. Onece I get that installed, what besides the aluminum intake tube (on top of the egr thing) can I feesibly get to to clean the soot and junk out? I know I need to take the intercooler tubes off to clean the oil out of, but, would it do me any good to take apart the top of the engine to get to the y bridge (i think that's what it is called)? Secondly, how do I clean this junk out? I haven't had it off, so I don't know how bad it is yet. I say some pics of a tube that somebody makes to take it's place, but I think that is if I get rid of the EGR all together. It's a daily driver, family hauler, camper puller. It won't race.

THANKS!

over time it will clean itself. One way to expedite it is installing water injection.

How will it clean itself? How long?
I need to block mine at almost 70,000  I know it's gonna be dirty.
If I can skip removing the intake that would be nice.

The oil from the PVC will clean it out I bet. I saw a pic of someones intake that had the EGR blocked after 100K and 30K-70K later the build up was gone.

I've been thinking about water/meth injection for a while. I just can't afford it right now. I would probably want to clean it some when I take it off for drilling the holes for the injuction when I get it. I just thought there would be something I should do in the meantime.

Somebody drives alot! I figured the crud was oil mixed with soot. Can't damage be done if somethng breaks loose and goes sown the intake?

Doing the PCV reroute is up to you I haven't seen the need. Its is oil and soot. Its more of a goo then hardened deposits so I don't see any damage being done.
