What's the best way to clean the motor and Engine Bay on these 2500HD's? My 2004 has never been cleaned, Not bad dirty but just showing its age. So thinking of cleaning it what is the best way?
Its got 98,000 miles on it and all my me and stock motor and trans. Did add Class 5 tow hitch, 5000 lb Air Bags and 19.5 Rickson Wheels.

It really depends on how crazy you want to get with it. If you just want to clean it up a little, straight simple green goes a long way. Some people get all crazy with covering up the bale connectors with plastic, and the alternator, but Ive never had an issue. just never wash a hot or warm engine. If you have access to a leaf blower or compressed air, after you wash it, blow off everything. If you want to really shine it up nice, you can dress all the plastics with a dressing of your choice like 303, armor all, mothers, meguires etc. Hope this helps.

on edit: A little detailers trick is after you blow off all the water from everything, spray your dressing all over the place liberaly, and then use compressed air or your leaf blower to push it around into all the little corners and such to coat everything nicely. Follow up with a quick wipe down to even out the gloss, amd you have yourself a detailed engine bay!

WD-40 is better than tire shine but don't tell anyone I told you that. :D
It also works well on the bumpers bed-rail protectors etc.

. Nonetheless it will attract dust.

Thanks guys I have 2 air compressors and a leaf blower and a pressure washer.
Good ideal on covering the alternator, and not going to add any dressing just clean the dust off it in a few spots. For a 04 its clean anyway as I drive it through a carwash that sprays from the bottom good also. And it does keep it clean but some spots has a little dust.
