LB7: Cleaning inj cup bores

I used standard Q-tips I bought from walmart taped to bamboo sticks that I sprayed with brake cleaner. It worked good but to A LONG time.

Shop towels/rags, brake cleaner, and a screwdriver. And it is a pain.

I found some small barillo (sp?) type pads made to fit a dremel tool, mounted them on a long tool bit and scrubbed them by hand. Then cleaned with brake cleaner and rags. When i was done they looked like they had just been freshly machined.

X3 with a drill on the other end. Talk about quick easy work. Used a long little flat head to the stubborn bits that wouldnt come off
If they stick bad to the injectors I would replace the cup. they are cheap and I had one that was stuck bad to the injector, I reused it then got to change the cup 600 miles later
One of mine was so bad I had to split it down the side too. Actually cut it with a dremel. It's crazy how bad they can be stuck on there. X 4, 5 or whatever we are on on the shotgun cleaning kit. Mine had the perfect size swab you can put on the end of the cleaning rod and twist in the hole with carb cleaner on it. Works Great.
I use a 45 degree die grinder with a 1" medium cross buff. It takes 10 minutes to clean all 8 once the cups are removed plus it somewhat reconditions the seat bore. After going this route I've never had a leaking cup issue and it's so easy that I reseal cups on 95% of LB7 injector jobs.
On average it takes 2-3 cross buffs per motor. A cooling system flush is a good idea after the motor is back together.
