Has anyone used a duplicolor chrome black out kit? I was thinking about doing my front and rear bumpers and possibly my stack, but didn't know if the kit was worth trying or not?

I think it would work ok on bumpers and wheels. . . Pretty sure it wouldnt last long in the stack though.

I didn't know how easy it would chip off on the front bumper. Yea good point on the stack never thought about the heat. I really want the black chrome look on bumpers but don't want to pay to send them off somewhere and have them replated.

I have used BBQ paint on exhausts with good results. You end up with a matte black look so no go if your wanting a black chrome shiny look.

I'm trying to go for the black chrome shiny look so I don't really want to use BBQ paint. I guess I will have to either sell it and buy a black chrome one or send mine off and have it replated in black chrome

I tried it on my front bumper once. I made an incredibly stupid mistake but it sounded like a good idea to me at the time. I decided I would want to chrome polish the bumper first so it looked good thru the paint, I proceeded to do so then didnt get a paint prep cleaner and left the polish on. Needless to say it didnt stick, Bubbled up green, And took me 4 hours to get it all back off. So my advice would be to just clean the bumper with there recommended paint prep crap. Don't polish it.

And i've been a little discouraged since that happened so I havent tried again with my new lesson learned.

i sold some to customer of mine, its been on the bumpers for 2 yrs with no chipping, he tried to paint his exhaust tip and it only lasted a week, so im sure it wont last on the stack. diamond eye sells a real nice black chrome stack..
