Thanks, I will definitely share the comparisons. Honestly, for a 2500 with a 6" lift the rig has always had a nice ride. I do have airbags since I tow heavy loads. The bag changed the ride quality slightly but nothing compared to my 82 Land Cruiser (FJ40) hahah.
A few details;
05 LLY with 6" lift as mentioned, I recently upgraded the UCA with the Fabtech uniball joint. HD Fabtech HD tie rods, SS braided brake lines (5), Cogneto sway bar links, and Bilstein steering dampener, The rig rolls on BFG 35's and 18" wheels. I built a custom rear bumper with folding/kneeling tire carrier.
Amp research power boards, HID projection headlights, HID fog and LED rears. The sound system was upgraded to Bose Lux to include touch screen nav, six CD changer (Denali) and an ARE shell.
Engine is tuned with Superchip flash-Paq EGR blocking plate, finger stick, aFe stage 2 cold intake, aFe Bladerunner turbo mouth, auxiliary fuel filter, aFe 4" turbo back exhaust. The rig also ran on MSD propane injection but I removed it due to my lack of discipline with the throttle.
I purchased the Truck new and declined the extended warranty offered knowing I would be the only one to work on her. The rig has never gone into limp mode or thrown a hard code in its life (fingers crossed). The truck lived outside for its first 7-8 years and now lives indoors. Between the desert heat and the pack rats, I was constantly keeping up with preventative maintenance.
Here she sits after a full service.
This is her spot when not on the road.
A shot of the under carriage after a Transmission service last month.
I also recently flushed the PS system, replaced the both Hydro-boost lines, added a PS cooler and replaced the Hydro-boost itself with a 2011 version.
The truck has been extremely reliable but well maintained.
The rear bumper I built back in 06.
Swing out.
Kneeling. I'm too old to wrestle a spare this size.
