Getting Ready to pull the trigger on a Turbo up-grade purchase on my 06-LBZ
Wanted to get any feedback from owner of Both units.
I was intially persuing the 70-MM As my Tuck is my daily driver for my pest control business , I have a lot of stop and go short distances. I do not Pull, No-Towing and just for fun. I am now leaning towards the 64-MM as if it produces the max levels one would want to hit while only having stock engine internals. I like the idea of having Faster Spool up a No Lag along with safer Boost level Maxs.

the 70mm is actually a 68mm, which is fine for daily driving, I have the 71.5mm now which is also fine for daily driving and it spools just as fast if not faster than stock. I had the 68mm before the 71.5mm, and wish I had just bought the 71.5mm first, ask anybody whos changed turbos and I bet they will tell you they should had went bigger from the start.

I have been wondering this same thing. IF I ever get into the 12's on the stocker, then I am thinking about going with the cheetah after as well.

So what sort of driving would the 64mm be suitable for?

I am curious about the 71.5 MM, can someone explain what the high pressure wheel is for the LMM cheetah, and how will this effect performance?

I have test the 64mm and 70mm. Started with the 64mm then went to the 70mm then back to the 64mm to meet 2.5 inducer bore rules. Then 70mm is fine for street driving and spools like Larry said, fast if not faster than stock. It'll suit you fine for stop and go driving. I am now going back to a bigger Cheetah, just not sure which one yet. :D

Ill probably never build my motor, and I hate the lag my truck currently has. How much faster does the 64 spool up over the stocker? If Ive read everything right, with a cheetah if you keep everything else the same it will also help lower the EGTs? I tow quite a bit and every once in a while heavy(~19-20K) so which one would be better for me?

This was on my truck (LBZ) but I can not remember if the exhaust housing was lbz or lly. We've had several LLY's dyno but I don't believe any were with 64mm compressors.

What do you have for tuning. The stock charger should not spool slow by any means with good tuning. Our stock LBZ with just a built trans, exhaust, lift pump, and our tuning will spool fast enough to break the tires loose from a 35-40mph roll on dry pavement.

Anyway, I may sell my 68 (aka 70) while my truck is down for the built motor. It got me into the 12.3s and with more fuel would have taken me further. I wouldn't go smaller than 68mm no matter what type of truck I was putting it on or what I planned to do to it. I would just send mine back to be made into a 71.5 but I want to go BIGGER than that now that I'll have the motor and fuel to support it. PM me if you are interested in a used 68mm, or I can send it back to Fleece for a refresh and have them send it to you.
